Kyyhkylä Manor & Hotel

Kyyhkylä Manor & Hotel offers true relaxation on the shore of Lake Saimaa. Located in the middle of nature and just 7 kilometres from the Mikkeli market square, the unique manor is full of history and individual services – without forgetting a good night’s sleep.

History

Kyyhkylä Manor was established in the 1630s of two neighbouring houses whose owners where slightly wealthier than the average citizen. The manor was formed when both houses ended up under the ownership of Hans Bomgård, bailiff of Per Brahe. Count Per Brahe, the governor-general of Finland, visited Savo in 1638 and grew so fond of the Mikkeli area that he wanted a fiefdom here for himself.

The lords of the manor changed often, but the most famous of them all was Otto Carl von Fieandt (1758–1825). The last private owner was merchant David Pulkkinen from Mikkeli.

Today

The main building of Kyyhkylä Manor, which was originally built in 1856 and renovated for hotel use in 2005, and the modern Hotel Rustholli, completed in 2011, offer several high-quality conference venues for every need from meetings to celebrations and mini getaways. The unique facilities can be adapted to suit groups of different sizes, from just a few people to even hundreds of participants. Our selection includes a traditional dance pavilion, a lean-to and a kota hut, a completely renovated lakeside sauna with an additional sauna room, and the cellar Kimallus for smaller events. The nostalgic Summer Café Rantakyyhky is located right by the blue waters of Lake Saimaa, and the café dock can be accessed even with a larger boat.

Tasty experiences and guided tours

Our professional chefs make sure that you get to enjoy many delicious experiences during your visit. The historic and atmospheric manor hall serves as a banqueting restaurant for groups of different sizes, and our kitchen is ready to cater for every need – from business lunches to festive birthday dinners and theme parties that encompass the entire manor courtyard.

Programme packages are always individually tailored to suit the customer’s wishes. A guided forest tour, firewood workout in a cornfield, or a team competition in Amazing Race style are good options to add a spark to a day filled with meetings.

Something for everyone

Rent a bicycle, canoe or snowshoes, play a round of minigolf or explore our fitness track in the forest. In the winter, a dip in the icy lake guarantees a good night’s sleep.
Relaxation starts with doing something pleasant: everyone has their own way of pampering themselves. Kyyhkylä wishes to provide a lot of different opportunities to do, experience, enjoy and rejoice.
