Explore Saimaa’s Winter Wonderland on Snowshoes

Discover the winter beauty of Lake Saimaa on a private snowshoe adventure along the scenic Puumala Seal Trail. Your local guide, Arto, will meet you at the Seal Trail parking lot and lead you through snowy forests and ridges while sharing stories about Lake Saimaa’s history, ancient shorelines, winter wildlife and the natural wonders of the Saimaa Geopark.

The 2-hour private experience is suitable for groups of 3–8 people and includes adult-sized snowshoes. Following your own paths through the peaceful winter forest, you’ll experience Saimaa away from the crowds and see its landscape from a local perspective.

The tour ends at the new Seal Trail shelter, where you’ll gather around the fire and enjoy a hot drink and grilled sausages in traditional Finnish style.

The experience can also be arranged at another location by prior agreement. For locations more than 10 km from the centre of Puumala, an additional guide mileage fee of €0.50/km applies depending on the distance, payable on site by cash or credit card.
