Through their persevering work, Sahanlahti has been restored and turned into one of the best gourmet destinations in the country. The couple has created a warm and cosy atmosphere in Sahanlahti, making sure that guests feel welcome and enjoy their stay.<\/p>\n Sahanlahti has been awarded as the best food tourism company in South Savo in 2014, and Sahanlahti was also the 2015 guest harbour of the year in the Vuoksi waterway area. With a product aimed at the international market, Sahanlahti snatched the prize in the top product competition of Visit Finland in 2017. Sahanlahti is one of the four Saimaa Gastronomy destinations. The theme weekends of the Saimaa Gastronomy network were awarded as the best Finnish food tourism product in 2019 in the national Hungry for Finland food tourism competition.<\/p>\n The village-like courtyard offers many types of accommodation choices, different saunas (in the winter there is also an ice sauna built by the owner) and plenty of activities during both the summer and winter season. Cultural experiences are also offered in the form of concerts and theatre performances at the new Sahan El\u00e4mysverstas facility. The summer of 2020 will mark the premier of a play called “Palava Tahto\u201d (Burning Will) that describes the sparkling life of Elsa Heporauta.
