Skating on frozen lakes!

Now it is the best season for tour skating across the beautiful frozen Lake Saimaa!

Tour skating is a great way to get close to nature while enjoying healthy exercise. The tour skating season usually stretches from the end of November to the end of March. Local companies in the VisitSaimaa region offer high-quality trails that are very well maintained. Tour skating is suitable for everyone and does not require a high level of fitness. It is an activity that the entire family can enjoy together, as younger children can even be pulled along in a sled.

In addition to skating, you can also enjoy the same trails with a Kickspark kicksled fitted with special runners for crossing the ice. There are many rest areas along the trails where you can enjoy warm drinks and a picnic lunch amidst splendid scenery.
